Judy Riola

Judy Riola
Desperados

opening reception First Friday, April 5th, 5-7pm

Judy Riola’s oil paintings on panel and canvas are energized, unabashed wonders. She depicts part human/part animal characters who exhibit bravado in the face of the desperate situations they encounter. These suggestions suggest a narrative, but invite the viewer to imagine their own.

Judy Riola is a graduate of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and Vassar College. She has shown at galleries in Boston, New York, and California, and most recently at Pentimenti Gallery in Philadelphia. Her work was featured in issue #148 of New American Paintings, and is included in the White Columns Curated Artist Registry. Her ceramic sculpture will be featured in an upcoming show at Transmission Gallery in Oakland CA.
